Tax compliance solutions provider Sovos on July 22 announced Sovos Intelligence, an AI-powered tax compliance intelligence solution that enables companies to get real-time insights on transactions and tax data.

The announcement comes one day after the Wilmington, MA-based company launched “Sovi AI,” a comprehensive suite of artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities embedded across the Sovos Tax Compliance Cloud platform for e-invoicing, tax, and information reporting compliance.

“Sovos Intelligence introduces true Mirror Visibility for tax and finance leaders, arming businesses with the same level of insight that tax authorities gain from continuous transaction controls, e-invoicing, periodic tax filings, and standardized audit files, such as SAF-T (Standard Audit File for Tax),” Sovos said in a media release.

Sovos unifies fragmented e-invoicing, tax, and accounting data from enterprise systems into a unified data model. Sovi AI-powered conversational analytics then allows teams to ask natural language questions and instantly surface insights, trends, and anomalies without relying on technical teams.

“Beyond streamlining jobs-to-be-done in the tax function itself, this data also provides unexpected insight for CFOs and finance leaders: Now, they can see unified transactional data in its cleanest form across all their financial technology,” Sovos said.

“Tax authorities often have a more accurate, real-time view of a company’s transactions, books of business, and tax position than the company itself,” Swati Garodia, chief product officer at Sovos, said in a statement. “This creates dangerous vulnerabilities for businesses with fragmented tax, invoice, and accounting data. With Sovos Intelligence capabilities like Mirror Visibility and conversational analytics, businesses can not only detect compliance risks early but also ask strategic questions and get instant answers that inform planning, cash flow, and decision-making.”

Sovos Intelligence’s Mirror Visibility provides real-time insight into how tax authorities view businesses, including:

  • Duplicate detection: Identifies duplicate invoice submissions that inflate tax liability.
  • Vendor-buyer reconciliation: Enables reconciliation between vendor reports and company submissions.
  • Real-time triangulation: Cross-references transactional, declarative, and audit data to detect inconsistencies before enforcement.

AI-powered capabilities include:

  • Smart data unification: Harmonizes data from accounts payable/accounts receivable, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Instant insights: Natural language queries convert complex tax questions into actionable intelligence.
  • Proactive compliance checks: Continuous monitoring identifies gaps and discrepancies before government scrutiny.
  • Audit readiness: Automated reconciliation ensures quick, complete responses to assessments.

“Sovos is turning compliance into a competitive advantage for businesses,” Garodia said. “It’s how tax becomes a driver of trust, accuracy, and strategic decision-making.”

Sovos Intelligence integrates with existing Sovos solutions and is available for early adopters with an attractive pricing offer, the company says. Organizations can schedule consultations with Sovos experts to assess how they can develop Mirror Visibility with tax authorities.
