Concur, makers of Concur Expense, offers a mobile app that ease the pain of frequent travel immensely. Tripit, which is available free, or for a low, annual fee, offers those that spend a lot of their time on the road, be it in an automobile or an airplane, a way to organize their travel, from the initial planning stage to the ability to create and access custom travel itineraries for each trip.

Along with creating itineraries, the product also manages reward programs that are offered by various airlines, car rental companies, or even hotels. Users can also easily track frequent flier miles, so mileage totals and reward points will always be up to date. An alerting system sends a message alert when flights are delayed or canceled.

  • The ability to organize travel plans in a single location
  • Smartphone/tablet compatibility
  • The ability to sync travel plans with calendar tools
  • The ability to share travel plans with others
  • The ability to store all travel documents in a single location

Tripit Pro offers all of the features found in the list above, along with the following:

  • The ability to receive real time flight alerts, including flight cancellations, delays, and even gate changes
  • The ability to quickly and easily locate alternate flights if needed
  • Receive notification if a better seat is available
  • Track rewards program points
  • Utilize VIP travel benefits by using Tripit.

The Tripit Help Center offers users the ability to access various help and training tools, Getting Started instructions, as well as access to additional mobile apps, and product support options, which include email support. Tripit does not offer telephone or chat support at this time, though users can call the company with billing questions.

Tripit is available in a free version, ideal for those that travel once or twice a year. For the seasoned traveler, Tripit Pro is available at the low cost of $49.00 per year. Tripit also offers users a free 30-day trial, so they can try out the product and see if works for them. As an added benefit, Tripit Pro is ad-free in the mobile app, and those using the free version can download an add-free Tripit mobile app for just $0.99. For those that spend a lot of time on the road, organizing your travel details doesn’t have to be painful – just download Tripit and see it if works for you.
